Tyson Fury has admitted that he is scared about what might happen to his mental health following his eventual retirement after admitting that his mood dips after just days without training.
The self-proclaimed Gypsy King cemented his status as the best heavyweight boxer on the planet with his 11th round KO victory over the Bronze Bomber, which came after a draw in their first meeting and his comprehensive win in the rematch.
While Fury was delighted to return to Morecambe with wife Paris following the bout and reunite with their six children, he credits boxing with keeping him in good mental health.
Fury told The Sun this week: "I don’t know what’s going to happen if I somehow get injured where I can’t train or whatever. I fear those days.
"I really am scared of what might be around the corner because I know, no matter what I’ve got, it can all be taken away from me by mental health problems.
“I believe you can never get over mental health, never. But you can learn to maintain it. If I don’t train for two or three days I dip.”
Despite detailing a four-fight plan earlier this year that included Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora, Fury hinted this week that his career could be over.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen [next],” he told The Telegraph.
“I’ve got one fight left on my contract with Top Rank and ESPN and we’ll see what that is.
“But I’m not thinking about boxing right now. I don’t know how many fights I’ve got left, I don’t know if I need to fight anymore. I don’t know what the future holds."
With promoter Frank Warren later telling talkSPORT of the boxer: “Before the fight, he did an interview and he mapped out five fights. I’m just saying, if he chooses to do it, he will do it.
"He will do what he wants to do and no-one is going to tell him who he is going to fight. I tell you that now; he is the man and he will do what is necessary.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Tyson said tomorrow, ‘I’ve had enough, I don’t fancy it.’
“If he does, he is wealthy, he has made a lot of money and he has got to do what is right for him.”
