Tyson Fury jokes he’ll still be boxing at 65 with wife Paris wanting seventh kid

Tyson Fury joked he still has a long way to go in his boxing career after retaining his WBC heavyweight title.

‘The Gypsy King’ produced yet another masterclass to defeat Derek Chisora for the third time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The pair embraced in the ring and after putting their friendship to one side while they reneged in battle, backstage they proceeded to have a chat over some fast food from popular burger joint Five Guys while also discussing plans for the future.

During their intriguing exchange, which Chisora posted on Twitter, Fury revealed a chat he shared with his wife Paris. “My wife said to me today, ‘it’ll be more noisy when we get another one this year,’ I said ‘what are you doing?’" ‘Del Boy’ then asked: “You don’t want more?”, before Fury added: “I’ll take what the good Lord will give me.”

Pressing him on his comments, the 38-year-old replied: “But you were talking last year saying you want to have another one,” to which the champion joked: “I will I will, keep it going, I’ll have to keep fighting until I’m 65.” Fury then went on to describe the rush of adrenaline he feels when performing in front of a live crowd, alluding to his entrance last night.

Following his victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April, Fury claimed he had retired from boxing – a decision that clearly didn't last long and his locker room chat with Chisora explained why. “I’ve been in this game so long, and I’ve tried to walk away a lot of time, but I can't,” he admitted.

“I'm like Frankenstein, eating up the electricity. Coming out there tonight, when people are going mad, it was like giving me a million quid, it was unbelievable. You’re not going to get a better crowd than that of tonight here.” From the early stages, Fury controlled proceedings and it became apparent he would emerge victorious – it was just a matter of when it would take place.

Two solid right hooks landed in the sixth and in the seventh as Chisora continued to take a battering. A nasty cut developed around his eye in the ninth, before a brutal Fury uppercut in the following round marked the beginning of the end as the referee was left with no choice but to stop the fight in the 10th round.

Speaking to BT Sport, Fury praised Chisora and the fans as he said: "I just want to say, what a crowd – 60,000 in Tottenham, I love every single one of you people. This is overwhelming, I want to say a massive thank you.

"I felt good, I needed some rounds, I haven't boxed since April. I was landing good punches, but take nothing from Del Boy [Chisora], it was a pleasure to fight tonight, he is a British folk hero. What a tough man. I hit him with shots that would have sparked anyone else out."

Fury then led the crowd in a chant of "Oh, Derek Chisora". Chisora, whose own future will now be in doubt, was gracious in defeat as he added: "Thank you Tyson, I really appreciate that. We are friends. There's a big fight coming, everyone wants to see one champion in the heavyweight division." It would seem Oleksandr Usyk – the holder of the remaining heavyweight titles – is next on Fury’s hit list as he bids to become the undisputed champion.
