Tyson Fury has led calls for his dad John Fury to fight Mike Tyson after fans raised their doubts over the Gypsy King’s ‘Battle of the Baddest’ against Francis Ngannou.
Fury Jr will take on the former UFC heavyweight champion this Saturday as he comes off the back of a 10th round TKO victory against Derek Chisora last December.
Asked what he thought of his father fighting the former American heavyweight champion of the world, he said: ‘That would be a fantastic match-up and I think it does five million buys on pay-per-view so let’s make it happen!’
While fans are relishing seeing the Gypsy King in action again, many have revealed they are disappointed by the lack of trash talk and spark in his fight press conferences so far with Ngannou.
One person wrote on social media: ‘I would genuinely love to see John Fury and Mike Tyson get it on for a couple of rounds on the under card. Just for a bit of fun.’

Fans across social media said that they would ‘love’ to see John Fury fight Mike Tyson
Another also added: ‘John Fury did more trash talk than Tyson Fury at final press conference.’
The concerns over this Saturday’s fight come after Fury praised the Cameroonian’s incredible rise from sand quarries to earning millions of pounds in a mega fight.
Many have also doubted whether Ngannou will be skilled enough to face Fury after the Gypsy King’s trainer was overheard calling his opponent an ‘amateur’.
But with John Fury’s mad energy in each of these press conferences, it appears fans have a new avenue to turn to.
A third wrote on X: ‘John Fury is literally a stage dad. I hope he really gets to fight Mike Tyson.’
Another said: ‘John Fury would get seriously humbled by Mike Tyson. Have to respect the way Tyson acted in the press conference and give all attention to Ngannou.’
A fifth concluded: ‘I understand why John Fury wants to fight Mike Tyson – he feels betrayed as he named his son after him and Mike Tyson is now training Ngannou.’
Perhaps when Fury takes on Oleskandr Usyk in an undisputed fight potentially on December 23, fans will be more excited then.
