Tyson Fury has given his thoughts on potentially fighting fellow British heavyweight Dillian Whyte, after finding out Whyte could well be his next opponent following his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.
The Gypsy King takes on his arch rival at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend, in what is their third – and most probably final – fight after two previous meetings.
Their original bout ended in a controversial split draw decision after many thought Fury had done enough to win the fight.
The 33-year-old then finally got his hands on Wilder’s title as he defeated the American in the seventh round, thanks to a technical knockout the second time they met in February 2020.

It was announced by the WBC that the victor from this Sunday’s bout will face the interim title holder.
However, that man is Oleksandr Usyk and he is contractually obliged to take on Anthony Joshua again following his win over the Londoner last month, so it looks increasingly likely that Whyte could be the man next in line.
When a surprised Fury found out the news he said: “That’s something I’ve not been told or am even interested in right now. I’ve got Deontay Wilder to deal with first and then we’ll sit down and make a decision on what’s next.”
Following the news of a potential Fury-Whyte face off, the Gypsy King’s co-promoter Bob Arum feels the bout would be a good one for his client.

In an interview with iFL TV the promoter said: “That could be a big, big fight for Tyson, particularly if we held it in the UK.
“That is not out of the question, Dillian Whyte is a capable heavyweight and a fight against Tyson Fury or Wilder [or] whoever wins would be a very interesting fight.”
Of course if the all-English heavyweight fight is to go ahead, Whyte also needs to live up to his end of the bargain by beating Otto Wallin at the end of this month, who will no doubt prove a tough test.
As a result, Arum believes that Fury will not have to worry about Whyte as he expects the fellow Brit’s Swedish opponent to come out on top in their respective bout.
