Tyron Woodley ‘didn’t even know’ he’d been KO’d by vicious Jake Paul punch

Jake Paul's punch which knocked out Tyron Woodley was so hard that the man who took it doesn't even remember it happened, according to his coach.

The two stepped into the ring on December 18 for a rematch after Paul had already come out on top by split decision in their first meeting.

The YouTuber was due to face his first actual boxer in his fledgling professional career, but Tommy Fury withdrew from the grudge match through illness and injury.

Woodley stepped in to replace him with just two weeks' notice, and Paul was so grateful he gifted his opponent a brand new £6,000 Rolex as a token of his appreciation.

But once they were in the ring there were few pleasantries, as the bout ended in dramatic fashion.

The first five rounds were devoid of much action, but the sixth saw a huge punch from Paul which left his opponent crumpled in a heap on the floor.

Woodley's coach Din Thomas has now revealed that his fighter doesn't even remember the punch, which knocked him out cold.

"I think he went through a series of different emotions. I remember standing inside the ring as soon as it happened and he was like 'no, no, when do I go back out?' Thomas said on Sirius XM.

"He didn’t even know, right when it happened, he thought it was in between rounds and I’m sure he was probably wondering why everybody was standing inside the ring. He didn’t even know at that moment.

"When I got out of the ring, I really just sat there, just in disbelief. That is really what the beginning was disbelief, you couldn’t believe that just happened.

"Then when we got to the back everyone on the team was disappointed like I can’t just believe that happened. Even [Woodley] was going back-and-forth.

"The guy that runs High Rollerz, well he was in the back and he brought his daughter who was probably four years old and when Tyron saw her he was like 'hey, I’m okay, don’t worry'.

"She really brought the life back into him and from him seeing this little girl you saw his whole demeanour change from being disappointed to this is what it is and I have to accept it."

While the punch looked vicious to some, not everyone was convinced with many claiming the fight had been "rigged".

And his would-be opponent Fury said he was unimpressed by the bout after watching from home.

"It's a pretty bad place you're in when the commentators who commentate your fight says, 'It's getting pretty hard to watch now'," he said in an interview with the Queensberry Promotions YouTube page.

"And joking between the commentators, 'Who won that round?' 'Well nobody'. And that went on for well more than half the fight. I was watching it and it was very upsetting for me to sit there and watch it."

Meanwhile, Thomas has laughed off suggestions that former UFC fighter Woodley had taken a dive for the payday.

"Listen, that whole theory, it makes me laugh. Being in his camp I know how serious it was, it was serious," he added..

"Tyron really wanted this win back, he really wanted this fight. It was a serious thing.

"If it was a dive I wish they told me because I would’ve just shown up the night of and partying. But, that wasn’t the case – it was a real, legit fight."
