Tony Bellew claims Usyk is the "best boxer Anthony Joshua will ever face"
Tony Bellew has claimed Anthony Joshua “won’t face a better boxer” than Oleksandr Usyk for the rest of his career.
Joshua is set to face the undefeated Usyk on September 25, and will be defending his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.
The bout will be just Usyk’s third bout at heavyweight, and while some have already written the Ukrainian off, Tony Bellew believes he has the ability to cause AJ some serious problems.
“I’ve been saying it. This is the best boxer he’s ever going to face in a boxing ring,” Bellew told Kugan Cassius on IFL TV.
“The best natural boxer, without a shadow of a doubt.
“It’s not potentially his hardest fight because Tyson Fury’s potentially his hardest fight. But the best boxer he’ll ever face? Yes.
“For what he’s capable of doing, how good he is, how technically good he is, the arsenal of punches that he’s got. He’s outstanding as a boxer. Standalone, without a doubt. He won’t face a better boxer than him.”

Bellew famously faced Usyk back in 2018 in what would be the Ukrainian’s final bout at cruiserweight.
After a few closely contested rounds, the undisputed champion took over and knocked Bellew out in emphatic fashion in the eighth round.
Despite this, Bellew still backs Joshua to get the job done on September 25 and believes “his size and how he imposes himself” will be too much for Usyk to handle.
“It’s a hard fight, it’s not an easy fight. Everyone’s going on about ‘It’s a cruiserweight vs a heavyweight’.
“It’s the greatest cruiserweight that’s ever put a pair of gloves on. It’s not just any cruiserweight. The boy is a big boy. He’s a naturally-sized heavyweight.
“He’s just not of the modern, super-generation heavyweights. It’s a hard fight. It’s one I think [AJ] will come through because I think his size and how he imposes himself on him will play a factor in the fight.”
Anthony Joshua is set to face Oleksandr Usyk on September 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena on September 25.
Joshua will be desperate to defeat Usyk in order to set up an all-British unification bout with Tyson Fury for next year.
On the other hand, the Ukrainian will look to continue his undefeated run as a professional boxer, become a two-weight world champion, and silence the London crowd.
