Tommy Fury could miss out on Jake Paul fight as YouTube star announces return

Tommy Fury has been warned not to 'end up like Dillon Danis' as talks stall for his potential December fight date with Jake Paul.

And Paul's manager and promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian has confirmed to Mirror Fighting that the YouTube star will be returning to the ring before the year's end.

And the 4-0 boxer has another opponent lined up if Fury doesn't accept his final offer of £1million to take the fight, which has been in the works for months.

Danis, a Bellator MMA fighter with a sizeable social media following, was offered a fight with Paul in April, which ultimately ended up landing with Ben Askren due to multiple rejections from the 2-0 MMA fighter.

And speaking to promote Paul's newest signing to his Most Valuable Promotions banner; Amanda Serrano, Bidarian explained the latest update on his next fight, saying there is a back-up plan should Fury ultimately turn down the bout.

"It's the opportunity of a lifetime for anyone to fight Jake Paul," Bidarian said.

"Even Claressa Shields, a phenomenal fighter herself, has used Jake's name to increase her awareness and engagement and now she's grown her awareness levels.

"So you take Tommy Fury, who hasn't accomplished anything like Amanda or Claressa or Katie Taylor, he's being given this platform.

"If I was him and I had the confidence in myself that I could beat Jake Paul, I'd be jumping at the chance."

According to Mirror Fighting sources, the fight was almost made for a Showtime pay-per-view event in mid-December, until Fury turned down two offers from Paul's team.

Fury said at the time that the offer paled in comparison to what was necessary to make a fight of the magnitude of Paul vs Fury, and publicly rejected the seven-figure deal to make his sophomore outing in America.

"That is true," Fury said of Paul's claims that he turned down a fight offer. "Those offers weren't even worth addressing.

"And now he has come out and said that he wants to give me a £1million to fight him and I just want to say this.

"To everybody out there, £1m for a fight of this magnitude is not even worth getting out of bed for.

"This fight is going to gross millions and millions of pounds."

But Bidarian has promised that Paul won't be making a third offer, and confirmed that he is expecting to return to the ring on that December date whether Fury is involved or not.

"We have not made a third offer," he explained. "Jake has put his line in the sand in terms of what he wants to do.

"I think Frank and George Warren [Fury's promoters] have been working on their side to try and figure out a solution.

"It's not dead, but we definitely have another option lined up.

"Our intention is to do a fight in December, that hasn't changed, Jake has made that very clear.

"Obviously everything has to make sense but usually what Jake Paul wants to do gets done so that's the plan.

"I hope Tommy doesn't become Tommy Danis and fumble this opportunity."
