Thor Bjornsson sends brutal KO warning to Eddie Hall as March fight confirmed
Thor Bjornsson has promised to stop Eddie Hall just like he did Devon Larratt when the pair finally fight next year, unless the Brit begins training harder.
Bjornsson confirmed during an exclusive chat with Mirror Fighting that the bout will take place in March 2022, with an exact date and venue to be confirmed in the coming months.
Hall, a fellow World's Strongest Man winner, is still nursing a severe bicep injury that forced him to pull out of their initially planned fight date last weekend.
Instead, Bjornsson took on former arm wrestling champion Larratt, who despite looking good for a fighter with five weeks of training, was handily dispatched within minutes.
And now Bjornsson, who was speaking to Mirror Fighting in his role as a Reign Body Fuel ambassador, says he has set his sights solely on his old rival Hall.
"March is the plan as of today," he said. "Let's just hope his bicep heals up well as it should and we can do the fight.
"From what I've seen, it doesn't look promising for him, he has a hard time holding his hands in the right position.
"He fights with his hands down and leaves his head open and if he does that then it's going to be a rough night for him, my reach and my jab are going to hurt him.
"But what he is posting doesn't mean that he's going to use that style, maybe he'll come in with a completely different style, we don't know, so we just have to wait and see.
Who will win, Thor Bjornsson or Eddie Hall? Let us know in the comments section!
"He hasn't shown a whole lot, which is completely fine, I don't need to see his style, I'm ready for it all which is why the Devon fight was such a good fight for me.
"I had no knowledge whatsoever of what Devon was going to bring, he ended up hugging me and even tried a wrestling move!"
The fight with Hall will be the Brit's first time stepping into the ring under the lights; a feeling which the Game of Thrones star has now experienced three times.
And asked if the Hall fight will be his last time stepping into the ring, he refused to rule out either retirement, or future fights, having already shown interest in bouts with Mike Tyson or Tyson Fury.
"I'm basically just focused on Eddie right now," he explained. "We'll see after that fight how I feel.
"I am really enjoying boxing though, so that's why I don't want to say yes or no.
"When I started this journey, all I was thinking about was Eddie, no exhibitions, but then I decided I needed the training.
"So we'll see how much I improve and we can take it from there."
Bjornsson has implored his rival Hall, who has seemed to forego much of the extreme weight loss that the Icelandic fighter has taken on, to keep training so that he doesn't get stopped early.
"Eddie, please train hard because you need it," he said in a brutal message. "Whenever you decide to fight me, in March or whenever, just be ready.
"Please cover your face, because if not I'll knock you out!"
