‘The fight is on’: Mike Tyson’s promise
After months of speculation, it appears as though a trilogy fight between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield is on the verge of an official announcement.
On Tuesday, reports emerged that Tyson had rejected a AU$32 million offer for a trilogy fight against Holyfield at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

But the 54-year-old boldly claimed the duo were on the verge of finalising the paperwork for a bout on May 29th.
“I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield,” Tyson said during an Instagram Live session this week.
“The only thing we have to do is get some small, fundamental paperwork done and then it’s all to the races for me and Evander.
“Holyfield’s a humble man I know that and he’s a man of God, but I’m God’s man. Listen, I’m going to be successful May 29.”

The heavyweight legend made a shock return to the sport last year, fighting to a draw against Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.
The success of the event — which reportedly generated $100 million in pay-per-view revenue — got Holyfield keen on getting a slice of the action.
In January, he told The Sun he was fully prepared to fight the man who bit off a chunk of his ear one more time.
“I’m still training for this,” Holyfield said. “I know it will be some day this deal will happen and I’m ready for him. I’m doing OK.”
Tyson was stunned by Holyfield in their first fight in 1996 after a dramatic defeat. The rematch a year later was infamously ended after Tyson was disqualified for biting the champion’s ear.
