Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum (left) has revealed that talks are underway for a UK fight in 2022
‘[Fury’s UK-based promoter] Frank Warren talked [on Wednesday] to Tyson who wants to get in the ring in February or March,’ Arum told Sky Sports.
‘We are talking to Whyte now to come to an arrangement to put the fight on in the UK. It will be a splendid fight and we are working hard to put it together.’
Warren and Arum feel they cannot wait any longer for Anthony Joshua to agree a megabucks deal to step aside from his rematch with Olexsandr Usyk and let the man who took his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts fight the Gypsy King for the undisputed world title.
While Fury was more keen to have his next fight be for every belt in a bid to become undisputed heavyweight of the world, a UK fight with Whyte is appealing.
Fury’s camp know they cannot wait around for the chance to go for the undisputed title

It will be Fury ‘s homecoming to the UK after a long campaign in America which included his epic trilogy battle with Deontay Wilder.
Whyte has had to be patient to wait for his first shot at a world championship belt but will get it against Fury provided talks progress and a deal is struck.
It is an interesting fight given their fractious relationship outside of the ring.
The bitter rivals and former sparring partners have exchanged numerous unpleasantries since the Gypsy King made his famous boxing comeback three years ago, with a host of insults on social media sparking demand for a meeting between them.
After being labelled ’embarrassing’ and a ‘coward’ by Whyte ahead of his clash with Deontay Wilder in 2018, Fury hit back by writing on Instagram: ‘Cowards??? It could have been you (facing Wilder).
‘But someone didn’t want to fight the final eliminator vs (Luis) Ortiz, did you coward? So that’s why you’re not fighting Wilder.’
Whyte has had to bide his time but finally looks set to get a shot at winning a world title belt
He then added: ‘Remember who you’re talking to – The Gypsy King, the man who has done everything that you could only dream of.
‘I know you’re a s***house dosser, enjoy being a work man for Eddie (Hearn).’
Asked if Fury may take Whyte lightly, Arum warned that that would spell ‘big trouble’ for the WBC champion.
He added : ‘Why wouldn’t Fury respect Whyte? Heavyweights throw bombs. If he doesn’t respect him, he’ll be in a lot of trouble.
‘Fury is enough of a professional, and a great fighter, and he knows that you don’t take a guy like Whyte lightly.’
