Strongman Eddie Hall once ’nearly bled to death’ after weights fell on his penis

Strongman Eddie Hall has suffered some gruesome injuries over the years, but surely nothing compares to the time when he dropped a set of weights on his penis.

Hall, 33, nearly bled to death after the crushing blow to his manhood but somehow managed to drive himself to hospital and get the affected area stitched up.

Recalling the story, which was anything other than cock and bull, the Staffordshire strongman told the Mirror in 2019: "I piled a load of heavy weights on a leg-press machine and then heard a loud thud.

"It had come crashing down and the weights had landed on my penis. I nearly bled to death."

Casually, he went on: "It was bad. The worst ever. I didn't cry for help though. I just lifted them off, drove myself to hospital and got stitched up. I was back training soon enough."

Hall, who has claimed the title of Britain's strongest man on no fewer than five occasions, most recently in 2018, also spoke about how his hulking frame causes him issues in everyday life.

"I've broken a few sofas in my time." he said. "I plonk myself down on my friends' sofas and often they split straight down the middle. I have a custom-made, heavy-duty bed at home, but I've broken my fair share of hotel beds, too.

"It has to be first class on trains, business class on planes – I don't fit in an economy seat.I drive the largest car I could get in the UK, a Ford Ranger pick-up. Even that's a squeeze."

These days Hall has his sights set on old rival Hafthor Bjornsson, with the pair set to face off in the boxing ring in March after their previously scheduled bout was postponed due to a bicep injury suffered by the Englishman.

Hall has been warned that he could be "badly hurt" by the Icelander when the two strongmen finally meet in a bout that has already been dubbed the 'heaviest boxing match in history.'

After footage emerged of Hill training, former WBO featherweight champion Alex Arthur tweeted: "Just seen big Eddie Hall punch a bag.

"They actually can’t let him fight Thor. He might get badly hurt! Boxing is a life-and-death sport. People playing it is stupid."

Hall and Bjornsson are due to meet in the ring in March 2022., but no official date has been confirmed as yet.
