Ringside camera catches true impact of Jake Paul’s brutal Ben Askren knockout
A ringside camera captured the brutal impact of Jake Paul’s sensational round-one knockout of Ben Askren on Saturday night.
Paul, 24, picked up the third win of his professional career against the former UFC star in Atlanta, backing up his pre-fight promises by wiping him out inside two minutes.
It was a ferocious right hand which ended the bout, with ringside footage showing the devastating impact it had on a crestfallen Askren.
The latter hadn’t competed since his submission defeat against Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night back in 2019, and Paul made every bit of his activeness and youth count at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In his post-fight interview, the YouTube sensation said: "I've been in training camp every day, I deserved that s***. This is the craziest moment of my life. I told y'all I was going to do it in the first round, I told y'all I'm a real fighter.
"I don't know how many times I've got to prove myself that this is for real.
"This is for Shadow, my security guard who passed away 10 days ago. He told me I would knock him out in the first round, he said he had a vision in a dream.
"This has been the hardest 10 days of my life, I've had to hold it together to keep this fight going.
“I’m just honoured to be here."

Askren, meanwhile, admitted he was embarrassed to have lost against a three-fight novice.
He said: ”I got knocked out by Jake Paul. Its f****** embarrassing."
When asked what will come next for him, Askren added: “I don't really give a s***. There's some pizza waiting in my hotel room, I'm going to go eat that, I'm going to fly home and hang out with my kids tomorrow.”
Askren also took to Twitter after the fight and wrote: “Sorry world :(“.
