Undefeated heavyweight Petar Milas will fight Tony Yoka at the Roland Garros Tennis Stadium in Paris on August 28.
The Croatian, who has won all 15 of his fights, including 11 knockouts, is targeting huge nights against the likes of Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk if he can beat Yoka.
Victory for Milas next month would see him elevated on to the world scene, with Olympic gold medallist Yoka currently ranked just outside the top 10 and aiming to land a title shot next year.
Petar Milas’ manager Sal Jobe (pictured left) admitted this is a huge opportunity for his fighter
The pair had been previously due to meet for the vacant EU heavyweight title but Milas pulled out despite being set for a career-high payday of £235,000.
Sportsmail understands Milas, who hasn’t fought since late 2019, will pocket £200,000 for this fight, which would still be his highest payday to date.
Frenchman Yoka, who beat Britain’s Joe Joyce to the gold medal in Rio back in 2016, will be the favourite, having won all 10 of his fights as a professional and mixed it against higher-class opposition.
Yoka is an Olympic gold medallist, won all of his 10 fights and ranked just outside the top 10
But Milas, who is managed by Sal Jobe and Dean Caslake of Next Level, is planning on staging an upset before going on to challenge the leading names of the heavyweight division.
His manager Jobe told Sportsmail: ‘This is a huge opportunity for Petar and he knows that and is fully focused on getting the job done.
‘He wants the big fights against the likes of Joshua and Usyk and if he beats Yoka he will be in a good position to try and get those fights later down the line.’
Heavy-hitting Spaniard Kerman Lejarraga is due to fight Dylan Charrat for the EBU belt on the undercard while former IBO world champion and light-heavyweight title challenger Igor Mikhalkin will also face Mathieu Bauderlique on the card in Paris.
