Paul provides ‘proof’ Mayweather altercation was ‘fake’
Jake Paul claims that his altercation with Floyd Mayweather in Miami last month was a ‘PR stunt’. The Problem Child was videoed running away from TBE after he was approached by the boxing icon and his entourage following a Miami Heat NBA game.
At the time, Paul gave his version of accounts in a video uploaded to his social media channels: “So I’m leaving the Miami Heat game and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere, out of like some side alley, waiting for me outside the stadium.
“And they’re like, ‘So what’s up? What’s all that talk now?’ I’m like first of all, what did I say to you, Floyd? I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it? Come on, bro. And then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me to jump me, and I’m out that b****, ok?”
He added: “You wanna run it one on one? No problem. But I’m not dumb. Okay? I’m tough, I don’t need to prove my toughness, but I’m not f***ing dumb. I’m not gonna sit there and try to fight 50 dudes.”
But now Paul affirms that it was staged in order to get a viral moment and even shared a picture of himself eating dinner with Mayweather that night to prove it.
“We were like, ‘Let’s set this up and make this go viral,’” Paul explained on the Wade Concept. “And viral it did, it went on every single news page and outlet. We got exactly what we wanted out of it. We needed people to think it was real, this was us at dinner,” he added as he showed a picture of him and Floyd together.

It appears the beef has well and truly been squashed and the pair seem to be on good terms now, but it wasn’t always that way. Back in 2021, before Jake’s older brother Logan fought Mayweather in an exhibition bout both men got into a heated altercation at a pre-fight press event.
Jake snatched Mayweather’s cap off of his head resulting in the boxing legend landing a swift right hand on the ex-Disney actor as he laid chase. Floyd is yet to come out and confirm whether the Miami altercation was ‘fake’ but a source close to him revealed that he had approached Paul over some unsavoury comments about a deceased family member.
