Paddy Pimblett welcomes Jake Paul’s $1m offer to spar after ‘fixed fight’ claim

Fight fans could soon see Jake Paul and Paddy Pimblett in a boxing ring after 'The Baddy' accepted his emerging rival's huge offer to spar.

Paul, 25, recently called out the UFC star following Pimblett's assertion that the American's "fights are fixed." 'The Problem Child' extended his unbeaten boxing record in October after defeating UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva via unanimous decision.

Paul took umbrage with those comments and said he was "sick and tired of this narrative" regarding fixed fight claims. To settle the debate, he offered to fly Pimblett out for three five-minute rounds of sparring in Puerto Rico, and the UFC prospect would win his $1million (£835,000) payday if he came out on top.

But 'The Baddy' is currently indisposed as he prepares for his lightweight showdown against Jared 'Flash' Gordon at UFC 282 (Dec. 11). That being said, Pimblett said he's more than willing to meet Paul as soon as he clears his current commitments.

"Of course," the Liverpudlian told TMZ Sports when asked if was interested in Paul's wager. "But I'm under contract by the UFC, and [Jake] said this knowing full well I'm fighting next week, know what I mean?

"As if he does not know I'm fighting next week and he's like, 'I'll fly you to Puerto Rico.' Come to the PI [UFC Performance Institute] next week. Come to the PI next week and bring $1 million in a bag and I will spar with you."

Pimblett has been cutting weight to meet the 170-pound lightweight limit but said that shouldn't be a problem for Paul, who "likes picking on smaller people anyway." Paul weighed in at 186.5 pounds ahead of his last fight against Silva, though The Baddy clarified he'll be back up to around that figure the Monday after his clash with Gordon, adding: "I'm game."

To his credit, Pimblett praised Paul's boxing progression and highlighted he shares no ill feelings towards the former Disney actor. That being said, the 27-year-old backed himself to make light work of 6-0 Paul were they to meet in a boxing match.

"I think he's a decent boxer," continued Pimblett. "But, lad, I've been doing this a lot longer than you, mate. I've got more heart and grit and determination than you. And if we did get the fight on, and I just focused on boxing for three to six months, I'd punch him around the ring.
