Boxing legend Mike Tyson has reunited with his old foe Evander Holyfield to create a new cannabis product in the shape of an ear. Tyson and Holyfield share one of the most famous rivalries in sport, but for all the wrong reasons.
After fighting in 1996 the pair faced off in a fierce rematch seven months later, and what followed was one of boxing's most recognisable moments, as Tyson took a chunk out of Holyfield's ear following a malicious bite.
Nearly 25 years on though, the two boxing stars have put their differences aside and used the iconic ear bite in a shared business venture.

Tyson – who is no stranger to the industry – has teamed up with his old rival to produce his latest cannabis product 'ear-rie' in a nod to the famous 1997 bite. Discussing his new venture, 'Iron Mike told the Huff Pos t: "If I was on cannabis, I wouldn’t have bit [Holyfield’s] ear!”
Unsurprisingly, Holyfield was less than convinced with the idea initially having been the man on the end of the infamous bite. He said: "I didn’t think it was funny at first, but then I realised Mike hadn’t been in more trouble for a while."
Holyfield then went on to reveal that he had never tried the drug until sampling the new product. "I wanted to make sure I got home and didn’t do anything to anyone. I ate it and laid down. I woke up the next morning and was like, ‘Whoa.’”
This is not the first time Tyson has paid homage to his 1996 ear bite with his products, having released a range of marijuana edibles called 'Mike Bites' earlier this year. Despite the success of his business, cannabis remains an illegal substance in some parts of the United States, as well as the United Kingdom.

Defending the usage of the drug though, Tyson's business partner Chad Bronstein commented: "I do believe we have a path to same thinking and federal legalization. When you look at what we’re doing, we’re destigmatizing it. You’re trying to destigmatize it. That’s what Mike’s been lending his voice to.
"I think it’s getting more and more accepted. And when COVID happened, it was really accepted when it was deemed an essential and that you can’t go anywhere except the grocery store and you can buy weed. So that was kind of a pretty big turning point for us."
