Ludumo Lamati receives ‘positive’ health update after collapsing in boxing ring
Boxer Ludumo Lamati has received a positive health update after he collapsed in the ring following his defeat to Nick Ball.
An update from his team read: "Updated scans from the medical staff in Ireland have been completed and the results back by the surgeons have been positive. The team will now look to reduce Ludumo's medication tomorrow.
"This will start to bring him out of his induced state and give us the status of the injury with a more informed diagnosis of the recovery time needed. We thank all South Africans for the well wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery."

Lamati, a former IBO super-bantamweight champion, had struggled to keep with the pace of Ball throughout the bout.
However, the bout turned scary after Lamati's corner had thrown the towel in. The South African corner had seen too much, when Ball landed his latest onslaught, and they threw in the towel, causing the official to wave off the bout.
It was after returning to his corner that Lamati collapsed, leading him to be transferred to Belfast Hospital.
Ball, who moved to 18-0 with 11 knockouts after the bout, said: "It was a fast-paced fight. So the main thing is his health, because as I say, this boxing is no joke. So I hope he's alright."
While Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotion also tweeted their support towards the South African: "All of our thoughts are with Ludumo Lamati."
