KSI opponent Swarmz had spells with Fulham and Charlton before quitting football

KSI’s upcoming boxing opponent is a rapper who had spells with Fulham and Charlton before quitting football.

British rapper Swarmz – whose real name is Brandon Scott – played football for the youth academies of Fulham, Charlton Athletic and Southend United when he was a teenager. In 2017, he signed for National League South club Whitehawk, before leaving the sport for good.

KSI was set to take on Alex Wassabi, but the American had to pull out due to an injury that he sustained in training camp.

KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, has not got in the ring since he made his professional debut against Logan Paul in 2019, a bout he won via split decision.

Now the YouTuber is set to take on Scott on Saturday at the O2 Arena as well as Mexican professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda in what will be a double-billing. The artist quit football in exchange for rapping and it’s paid dividends as he now performs at some of the biggest stages. He cites some of his influences as Bob Marley and other reggae artists.

Scott released his first video for the song ‘Money’ back in 2017. It picked up over 200k views on YouTube. In early 2018, he released ‘Murda’ – while his breakthrough single ‘Lyca’ was released later that year, going viral.

The song earned him a deal with Virgin Records.

Indeed, he is set to face off against KSI on the X-Series scheduled to take place tomorrow – August 27, 2022.

After the double fight, KSI revealed that he has eyes for only one man for the next one. He said to Men's Health: "I want Jake Paul. That's why I've come back. Everyone thinks he's sick. Everyone thinks he's the goat, and I'm here to expose him and show everyone he's not as good as he thinks he is.

“I'm going to show everyone that I’m the greatest YouTube boxer of all time. And then after that, we'll see where I want to go with boxing. If I want to fight other boxers or MMA fighters or whatever, the sky is the limit. I've got a goal that I want to achieve, which is Jake Paul, and once I get that let me push my body some more, see how far I can go and find someone else that people would think I would never be able to beat.”
