KSI fumes at TikTok famous Wakey Wines over ‘insane’ Prime energy drink prices

KSI believes retailers are taking advantage of his Prime energy drink after prices rose as high as £100 a bottle.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer launched the drinks company alongside old rival Logan Paul last year, with demand huge across the UK after its arrival. There was chaos in Aldi over the festive period as shoppers scrambled to get their hands on bottles and cans for £2, with some even coming to blows.

One retailer in particular, Mohammad Azar Nazir has become TikTok famous after selling the product at his Wakey Wines shop in Wakefield.

He shared a series of videos on social media after selling the products for £100 each, much to the dismay of one of the company's founders.

“There’s a guy called ‘Wakey Wines’ and I don’t know if it’s a joke or not, but either way it’s terrible practice," he told talkSPORT.

“People want to try these drinks and they have not got the chance to try the drinks. You have people who are bulk buying and selling it for stupid prices and taking advantage of the hype and I hate it.”

KSI admitted he did not expect Prime to be such a success, adding: "I thought it would do OK, because it had me and Logan Paul promoting it and we both have very big fanbases.

“But I didn’t expect it to be this insane to the point that people are paying £100 for a can of Prime or £25 for a bottle of Prime hydration, it’s going crazy.”

KSI, who will return to the boxing ring against FaZe Temper at Wembley Arena this weekend, also posted a TikTok reaction video to a clip of Wakey Wines, seemingly selling a case of Prime for £1,200.

The Brit screamed at the camera: “Oh my god, NO! He can’t keep getting away with this! Stop buying it at these prices!"

Nazir claims he was banned from TikTok after hiking up the drink prices insisting people were trying to "tarnish his business." He added: "I've been working so hard for this. All of my videos are all for fun."

A spokesperson for the social media company later confirmed that the account had been reinstated.

Daily Star Sport have approached Wakey Wines for comment.
