Boxing is set for another weird twist, with Misfits Boxing chief KSI potentially taking part in a tag-team match involving the legendary Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Following the success of the tag-team concept at KSI’s Misfits Boxing event earlier this month, the prospect of Mayweather and fellow legend Pacquiao being involved in the blockbuster two-on two affair is ‘officially in the works’, according to Happy Punch Promotion.
The fight would see KSI and Mayweather take on Pacquiao and Salt Papi. The latter is a TikTok star, who is managed and promoted by Happy Punch, and is undefeated through his first three boxing matches. Fans went wild for the bout between Los Pineda Coladas (B Dave and Luis Alcaraz Pineda) and D-Generation Ice (IcePoseidon and Anthony Vargas) at Misfits Boxing 005.
The rules of the tag-team match meant one member of each team had to wait on the ring apron while the other was inside fighting, but they could tag each other in by touching gloves. Los Pineda Coladas won a truly chaotic fight thanks to a second round stoppage.

Should this historic fight take place, this will be the first time Mayweather and Pacquio will feature on opposite sides of the ring since their professional bout in 2015. It proved to be the most lucrative fight of all time, grossing over £500 million with 4.4m pay-per-views sold in America.
However, it failed to live up to the hype from an entertainment standpoint, which the American won via unanimous decision. Since retiring from pro boxing in 2017, ‘Money’ Mayweather has competed in six exhibition bouts with his most recent outing coming at the O2 Arena against former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers.
Mayweather has also faced the likes of YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI’s younger brother, Deji, while Pacquiao is keen on a return to professional boxing with reports linking him to a fight with Conor Benn. KSI is set to return to the ring on May 13 in London against millionaire businessman-turned-boxer Joe Fournier, who boasts a 9-0 boxing record.

This comes before facing the winner of the upcoming Kingpyn Tournament in August at Misfits Boxing 010. Following that, he is keen to battle either Jake Paul or Tommy Fury, before stepping away from boxing and “going back to music” full-time.
He tweeted: “Fight May 13th – Misfits 007 Fight winner of Kingpyn Tournament – August 26th – Misfits 010 Fight Tommy fury/Jake Paul December 16th – Misfits 013 Retire and go back to music. Sounds like a good plan to me.”
