Joshua vs Usyk may take place on helipad 321m above ground in Dubai

Anthony Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk could be staged on top of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, 321m above the ground.

The hotel has a helipad on top of it and has hosted events there before, with Joshua even enjoying a sparring session there in 2017.

Joshua's promoter, Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn, has dropped a hint that it could host the rematch, having shared a clip on his Instagram story of him on the helipad.

Hearn posted a video of him walking on top of the hotel, with the simple caption of: "Meeting".

It comes after Hearn revealed earlier this month that he would be holding talks "around the world" to look at places where the rematch could be staged and the Sun are now suggesting the Burj Al Arab could host the bout.

However, Hearn did admit that London would be the preferred venue for the fight.

"We're looking at potential sites, we've got meetings next week around the world to look at where that fight might take place," Hearn told iFL TV.

"I'd love it to take place in London. I think it'll take place in May, and we'll speak to [Usyk's team] and get that nailed on, and hopefully get it announced before the end of the month.

"There's the UK, America, the Middle East – we've had offers all around the world for that fight. I'd like to do it in the UK and we'll see."

Many sports stars have displayed their talents on top of the helipad – with Rory McIlroy teeing it off from there before, while Roger Federer has also played a game of tennis against Andre Agassi.

Most recently, there was speculation that Floyd Mayweather could fight it out with YouTube star Money Kicks on top of the Burj Al Arab, before negotiations ended.

The first fight between AJ and Usyk took place in September at the Tottenham Hostpur Stadium and saw the Ukrainian put on a clinic to win the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles from Joshua in stunning fashion.

Joshua immediately triggered his rematch clause, but then considered stepping aside to allow Usyk to fight WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a unification bout.

However, talk of a unification fight ultimately fell through and Joshua and Usyk will rematch, with Fury instead set to face Dillian Whyte.
