John Fury reveals a deal between Tommy Fury and KSI is 'very close'

John Fury reveals that an agreement between Tommy Fury and KSI is ‘very, very close’ while the YouTube famous opponent admits that ‘negotiations are going back and forth’

  • KSI and Tommy Fury are edging towards an announcement over a huge fight
  • Both camps have been locked in negotiations over securing a deal for the bout
  • John Fury, dad of Tommy, confirmed an agreement is nearly ‘over the line’

John Fury has claimed that a fight between his youngest son Tommy and YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI is ‘very, very close to being done’.

Negotiations between Tommy Fury’s camp and KSI appear to be coming to their conclusion with details of the highly-anticipated fight reportedly set to be announced shortly.

Both parties have been eager to thrash out a deal with Fury being brought into the ring to face-off with KSI after the latter’s latest fight with Joe Fournier.

The YouTuber eventually had his victory overturned after a post-fight investigation declared that he had accidentally used his elbow against Fournier.

Fury Snr has been involved in securing a bout with KSI’s representatives, the Sauerland brothers, and told Seconds Out that the fight looks set to take place this year.

‘Well, we’re nearly over the line with that one I think,’ said Fury.

‘Me and the Sauerlands, we’re nearly over the line with it. I think it’ll be announced very shortly.

‘Until it’s signed off, nothing’s done, is it? But I’m happy, we’re nearly there. We’ll hopefully get it on this year with him and KSI,’ he added.

This would mark the second high-profile fight for Fury, who previously had ambitions to follow in the footsteps of his heavyweight world champion brother Tyson, against an emerging repertoire of fighters attempting to establish careers in boxing after finding fame on YouTube.

Fury previously beat Jake Paul in February via a split points decision and has been engaged in a social media rivalry with KSI ever since.

KSI – full name, Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji – offered further confirmation that discussions between the two camps are progressing well.

‘I am training for that fight. Negotiations are going back and forth, we’re just waiting on Tommy [Fury] essentially,’ KSI told Misfits Boxing.

‘I’m training, I’m getting ready for that fight, that’s what I want.

‘Because I know as soon as I beat Tommy Fury, Jake Paul’s whole career, his whole legacy’s in the bin, and I will be laughing,’ he added.
