Jake Paul’s next fight after Fury has potential audience of ‘over a billion’

Jake Paul’s next fight after Tommy Fury could be watched by “well over a billion” people.

Millions, from hardcore boxing fans, casual supporters, and those new to the sport, are expected to tune into the duo’s clash in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Paul and Fury are still raw to professional boxing, but they are both set to pocket seven figure sums at the end of the bout.

It is a fight that has been built up for the best part of two years mainly due to the fact it has been cancelled on two occasions. Fury pulled out of the first bout in 2021 citing a broken rib and a chest infection and also had to cancel the second time one year later, when purported visa issues stopped him from getting into the United States.

However, due to the level of excitement and hype generated from the fight, Paul’s next bout has been tipped to attract more than one billion viewers.

A colossal bout with British YouTube sensation and Misfits boxing pioneer KSI could be the 26-year-old's next bout. KSI boasts a staggering 41million subscribers over two channels, amassing more than 10 billion views across all of his videos.

“The whole nation would watch it,” boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland told talkSPORT when asked about the potential of a Paul vs KSI fight. “The potential audience, without a doubt, you’re talking well over a billion views. A billion is probably conservative. The numbers are insane.”

Fury even admitted himself he feels like he has won the lottery with his bout against Paul. The 23-year-old, who has only had eight professional bouts himself, will be the first ever professional boxer Paul has faced.

And he promised to prove he is on a different level to the American when they touch gloves in the Middle East. “The guy can’t fight and I’m going to expose that on Sunday night,” Fury said to the 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce podcast.

“It’s a massive fight and we’ll have A-list celebrities ringside. What more could I ask for? And thank God I’ve got Jake Paul and not a Russian with 30 knockouts. I’ve won the Lottery, haven’t I? My life’s changed in the blink of an eye. One day I had nothing, clothes with holes in them, and I open my eyes again and I’m here. I’m taking it all in my stride.”
