Jake Paul’s Anderson Silva fight made official for October hours after KSI plea

Jake Paul has confirmed UFC legend Anderson Silva as his next opponent just hours after pleading with KSI for a YouTuber boxing showdown.

The Problem Child, 25, will face Silva in an eight-round contest in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29, aiming to maintain his undefeated status since first taking to the professional circuit back in 2020. Now vying for a hat-trick of MMA takedowns, Paul has already bested Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in the ring, knocking out Askren inside the opening round.

Now though, the American faces his most daunting task to date. Silva holds the record for the longest UFC title reign, lasting 2,457 days defending the Middleweight belt.

However, it seems the Brazilian-born boxer wasn't Paul's no1 opponent choice, the YouTuber was vociferous in his desire to do battle with fellow online personality KSI, though an agreement was not forthcoming.

"Bulls*** aside, the PPV business ain’t easy. Congrats to KSI and his boxing company, tweeted Paul earlier today (September 6). "Those are great numbers. The day we finally settle this, it will break the internet and do some big PPV numbers on Showtime. I’m ready as soon as he feels he is."

But the 3-0 Brit hit back at Paul's sly jibe by putting the record straight. KSI replied: "Yeah this is cap. I can literally see your numbers and ours. We beat your last fight by a HUGE amount ppv wise.

"Even with your team trying hard to sabotage the event and me having to fight 2 randoms last minute. We are not the same."

KSI, 29, claimed two victories on August 27 at both the start and the end of a thrilling night of YouTuber and influencer boxing. The Nightmare dropped both British rapper Swarmz and Mexican boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda at the 02 Arena.
