Jake Paul takes swipe at Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather over fight purses

Jake Paul has boasted about his earnings after he continued his 100% record in professional boxing by beating Ben Askren at the weekend.

And the YouTube star couldn't resist aiming a dig at both Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather over his perceived financial might over the two – both of whom he has been linked with fighting in the future.

Paul knocked out former MMA star Askren in the first round of their bout in Atlanta on Saturday night, and is reported to have generated an eyewatering $65million as a result of 1.3m pay-per-view buys for the fight.

The victory was Paul's third out of three in boxing after he beat AnEsonGib and Nate Robinson last year, and it seems as though there will be more to come very soon.

Paul spoke to his brother Logan in an interview on the Impaulsive YouTube channel and insisted he will continue to bring in the big bucks, while also comparing his earnings in his third fight to that of McGregor and Mayweather in theirs.

"On the next one we're going crazier than we did before," Paul said. "In Conor McGregor's third fight in the UFC he got paid $80,000. In Floyd Mayweather's third fight he got paid $7500.

"And by the way no one is this room can name who they fought. I will pay you 50 grand if you can."

Paul also revealed some of the text messages he had received from his management claiming that he could end up as the most profitable pay-per-view boxer in history.

He added: "This is what my management has texted me, by the way: 'We do this right and you will be the biggest pay-per-view star in history. You are the most impactful, most important boxing professional in history.'"

It remains to be seen who Paul's next opponent is, but there is speculation it could be Tyson Fury's brother and reality TV star Tommy, who called the American out immediately after his win against Askren.
