Jake Paul slammed upcoming opponent Nate Diaz as ‘disrespectful’ on Thursday, as he and Pat McAfee waited for the ex-UFC star to turn up for a joint interview.

Paul, the YouTuber-turned boxer, and Diaz are set to fight August 5 in Dallas.

And there’s already some tension brewing between the pair even before they’ve stepped in the ring.

‘Me and my friends talked about it, and we had a bet if he would show up or not,’ Paul said of the interview on McAfee’s eponymous show. ‘And I said, ‘I don’t think there’s any way possible that he shows up, man.’

‘The dude’s been really unprofessional, and I’m gonna make him pay, bro. This is valuable time, this is one of the biggest sports shows in the world, and he just stands us both up bro?

Jake Paul said he would ‘knock [Nate Diaz] the f***’ out in their August 5 fight

The Dallas fight will be the first of Diaz’s boxing career after a long run in MMA

‘This kid’s a punk, he’s a bully, he thinks he can do whatever he wants, and August 5 imma make him pay for all this s***t he’s done… I’m gonna knock him the f*** out.

The fight will be the first of Diaz’s boxing career following a 17-year run in MMA.

Paul, meanwhile, has a 6-1 record as a boxer but is coming off of the first loss of his career in February, versus Tommy Fury.

He has faced criticism in some corners for not fighting natural boxers, as Diaz will be the fourth former UFC fighter he’s faced in his career.

Paul has fought many un-natural boxers, including former NBA guard Nate Robinson in 2020

He also fought former NBA point guard Nate Robinson in 2020.

Diaz eventually showed up to the interview, and appears to like his chances in the fight.

‘I feel better than I ever have and I’m not stopping anytime soon,’ he said.

He and Paul will be fighting at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
