Jake Paul is set to take a seven-month break from boxing following his explosive win over Tyron Woodley earlier this month, according to reports.

Paul, 24, knocked out Woodley in brutal fashion on December 18, flooring the former UFC champion to the point of no return with a vicious right hand in round six.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer has competed four times in the last 13 months, bettering Woodley on points when they first met back in August, having also knocked out Ben Askren and Nate Robinson.

According to The Mirror, he is now planning to take an extended break from fighting in order to focus his efforts on promoting Amanda Serrano’s undisputed lightweight showdown with Katie Taylor next year.

Paul, who promotes Serrano after signing her to his Most Valuable Promotions banner earlier this year, is expected to land his female charge the biggest fight in women’s boxing history against Irish superstar Taylor.

He will reportedly dedicate his efforts in early 2022 to pushing the fight, which will be co-promoted by Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, in order to maximise profits.

Paul’s recent win over Woodley was the fourth time he has competed in the last 13 months

The two teams are believed to be eyeing a date in April or May at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and Paul is delighted to be handing Serrano the biggest pay day of her career.

‘She’s put in thousands and hundreds of hours in the gym and she deserves the big payday that she’s going to get,’ he said on an episode of his brother Logan’s Impaulsive podcast.

‘She deserves to be able to retire from boxing and not work again. That hasn’t been the case for women’s boxing, they’ve been underpaid and taken advantage of.

‘It’s an amazing accomplishment for me to be able to help her and she’s such an awesome person.’
