Jake Paul mocks Conor McGregor and Ben Asken by calling on them to fight
Jake Paul has escalated his war of words with Conor McGregor by tipping the Irishman to face Ben Askren, while also highlighting the duo's losing records.
Paul and McGregor have been going back and forth on social media over the last week following the American's dig at the UFC superstar's fight purses.
McGregor – a former featherweight and lightweight champion – hit back by accusing the YouTube sensation of competing in "blogger jackass boxing" in his three professional fights to date.
The most recent of those bouts came against Askren earlier this month, with Paul scoring an emphatic first-round TKO victory over the former mixed martial arts champion.
Askren was never renowned for his striking before he retired from MMA in 2019, whereas McGregor is considered one of the finest boxers in the UFC.
The 32-year-old gave a good account of himself as he took on the legendary Floyd Mayweather in their 2017 mega-fight, although he succumbed to a 10th-round TKO defeat.
But even though he fought one of the greatest fighters of all time, McGregor's professional boxing record is the same as Askren's: 0-1.
How would Paul fare if he faced McGregor? Have your say in the comments.
Paul pointed this out to his two rivals on Twitter, posting pictures of McGregor and Askren with the words "0-1" and adding: "This is the fight we all wanna see."
McGregor did not reply to the tweet directly, but one hour later he posted a picture of himself in the UFC Octagon with his hands on his hips and a placid expression.
Meanwhile, Paul is edging closer to a fight with Tommy Fury – the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson.
He told ESPN : "I think it'd be a massive fight. He's [Fury's] fought scrubs to make himself look good.
"People will say the same about me, but I've fought guys with winning records like Ben Askren and AnEsonGib. Our teams are talking and trying to figure something out."
