Jake Paul insists he does 'NOT see any reason' to fight Tommy Fury
‘Cynical’ Jake Paul insists he does ‘NOT see any reason’ to fight Tommy Fury next year ‘and give him a payday’… and says ‘it would be more fun to leave him in the dust’ after Love Island star pulled out of their grudge match
- Tommy Fury was set to face Jake Paul on December 18 in Tampa, Florida
- But Love Island star pulled out with a ‘bacterial chest infection and broken rib’
- Fury admitted in statement he was hopeful a fight could be rescheduled in 2022
- But YouTuber Paul poured cold water on hopes, saying he wants to be ‘cynical’
Jake Paul insists he does not want to give Tommy Fury the chance to rearrange their fight after pulling out of their bout this month.
The Love Island star was set to square off with the YouTuber on December 18 in Tampa, Florida, but pulled out due to a ‘bacterial chest infection and broken rib’.
Tyron Woodley will fill in to set up a rematch with Paul, but Fury admitted he was hopeful his fight against the latter could be rescheduled early in the new year.

However, Paul appeared to pour cold water on those hopes, insisting he wants to leave Fury ‘in the dust’ and has no desire to grant him a ‘payday’.
‘I don’t know how I feel about it,’ Paul told The MMA Hour. ‘For me, I almost don’t want to give him the opportunity.
‘Let’s say I do, let’s say I get over the emotional part of it, I’ll give him this opportunity — who knows if he’s going to back out or have some excuse then, or have a chest infection or not show up at the press conference.
‘It’s looking bad for him. Part of me wants to just be cynical and not ever give him this payday or this opportunity ever again.

Paul however was a lot more toxic in an Instagram post, slamming the Briton for his withdrawal.
‘It’s official: Tommy Fury is boxing’s biggest b****,’ said Paul in an Instagram video on Monday. ‘He has pulled out of the fight. The Furys have pulled out of the fight due to a ‘medical condition’.
‘Who knows what the f*** is going on in that camp? I think he has a bad case of bursitis. He fumbled the biggest bag of his life, now he will be watching at home, paying me $60 instead of getting paid millions of dollars to fight me.
‘I’ve fought with a broken nose, I’ve fought sick. Get the f*** over it, this is boxing. It’s official. He was scared. I think the pressure got to him, the s*** talk got to him. That’s the bad news.
‘The good news is that Mr Tyron Woodley, we called him up and we were like: ‘hey, do you want to take the fight?’ He has been in training.
‘He was like: ‘Sure, we’ll take the fight, let’s do the rematch, run it back.’ I’m giving him $500,000 extra dollars if he can knock me out.’
Paul also captioned the Instagram post: ‘When my team woke me up on Friday to tell me Tommy Fumbles was pulling out, I told them I’ll fight anyone on December 18th. Troy, Trey, Trevor, Travis,… I don’t give a f*** who it is.
Tyron Woodley (left) will fill in to set up a rematch with Paul after losing in tussle in August
‘Tommy’s pulling out because of a ‘medical condition’ called vaginitis. Unlike the Fury’s, Tyron actually has some balls, is stepping in, and contractually he is getting an extra $500,000 if he knocks me out. First time I outboxed him. This time I’m gonna punish him and leave no doubt.’
Paul holds a 4-0 professional record, three of which ended by way of a knockout.
Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion, suffered a split decision loss to the youngest Paul sibling in their tussle in August.
Meanwhile, Fury has fought seven times and remains unbeaten. Four of his victories came by knockout.
