Jake Paul explains why he stole Floyd Mayweather’s cap to spark ugly brawl
Jake Paul delivered a sarcastic response when explaining why he stole Floyd Mayweather's cap.
Mayweather was in Miami promoting his fight with Jake's older brother Logan when the younger sibling confronted him.
He demanded his own fight with the ring legend and then stole Mayweather's cap.
Mayweather ran after the social media star and could be seen throwing several punches and at one stage Paul was seen picking himself up off the ground.
He was later heard shouting, "I'll kill that motherf*****. When I catch you I'm going to kill you" as he was led away through the stadium while Paul tweeted simply, "Gotcha hat".
Explaining why he made the decision to steal Mayweather's cap, Paul sent out a light-hearted post to his 3.9m Twitter followers.
"I stole his hat because he steals people's money with his boring ass fights," he joked.
Paul added a second tweet shortly afterwards, again poking fun at the 44-year-old.
"Honestly have had 3 easy fights as a pro so been itching for some real action.
"1 of Floyd’s 30 bodyguards got a clean shot on me in the eye RESPECT!!"
Mayweather is set to go head-to-head with Logan Paul on June 6, in a fight that was scheduled to take place earlier on in the year.
Speaking ahead of the bout, the 50-0 undefeated boxing star said: "We're going to come out, entertain and have fun.
"It's a fight for him but for me it's all about fun.
"The last time I fought in an exhibition in Japan it was only two minutes, hopefully this time it will be a bit longer."
This will represent the second boxing match of Logan Paul's career, having only faced fellow YouTuber KSI to date.
Jake Paul, meanwhile, has three professional fights on his record, against fellow social media star AnEsonGib, former NBA star Nate Robinson and former UFC wrestler Ben Askren.
