For Jake Paul, there is more than just bragging rights on the line when he steps into the ring with MMA icon Nate Diaz on August 5.
‘The Problem Child’ may also be fighting for his career. At least, according to his manager Nakisa Bidarian, who claims Paul could retire if he loses this weekend.
‘He may retire if he loses to Nate Diaz,’ the co-founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions told ESPN.
‘His boxing career is on the line, in terms of being one of the top three or four guys in the entire sport globally.
‘I think if he was to lose, he’d just go to being another prospect that’s coming up in the ring.’

Paul fell to defeat for the first time in his professional boxing career at the hands of Tommy Fury back in February.
Providing he beats Diaz, the YouTuber is expected to run it back with his fierce rival, who is scheduled to face KSI on October 14.
However, a loss would likely spell an end to any hopes of him exacting revenge on Fury and leaves Paul’s career in limbo.
As for Diaz, Bidarian doesn’t feel he faces the same dilemma in defeat. ‘I don’t think his place in the sport is at stake,’ Bidarian added.
‘I just think it’s about what’s next for him and how much leverage does he have in dictating what’s next versus having to accept what’s next.’
