Jake Paul celebrates with MGK after brother Logan’s fight with Floyd Mayweather
Jake Paul partied into the early hours of Monday morning after brother Logan's exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather, and even got on stage with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
The brothers were in a celebratory mood after Logan went eight rounds with boxing legend Mayweather at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami last night.
And after an exciting night of action, Jake and friends, including social media influencers Mike Majlak, Tana Mongeau, George Janko and others headed next door to an after-party at the DAER nightclub in Seminole, South Florida.
The event was attended by hundreds of fans, and the set from MGK was a surprise for those in attendance.
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, is a close friend of the Paul brothers, and has appeared on Logan's podcast 'Impaulsive' during their special 100th episode.
They're all from Ohio, and moved to California at similar times to pursue their careers in the entertainment industry.
But fans were shocked to be treated to a surprise set from the MTV Award winning rock star, performing songs from his most recent album 'Tickets to My Downfall'.
Logan was not in attendance during the set, but the brothers' mother Pam Stepnick was there, as seen in a video posted to Jake's Instagram page with almost 16million followers.
It was a celebratory atmosphere for all involved in the brothers' circle, having gone eight rounds with a boxing legend, despite Paul's limited experience and skillset.
He struggled to keep up with the pace of 44-year-old Mayweather, who has wins on his record over Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya.
But with a solid combination of energy management and use of the clinch to frustrate and wear out Mayweather, Paul was able to last the distance, without even being put down once.
Due to exhibition rules, no winner was officially announced for the match, so Paul can now claim that he fought Mayweather and managed to get out without a loss – the first man to do so in 25 years.
Fans were upset with the standard of action on display at the Hard Rock Stadium, expecting to see the far superior boxer in Mayweather stop Paul within a few rounds.
But the 35 lb weight difference was too sizable for Mawyeather to overcome, as Paul was able to use his extra size to frustrate and stifle the more experienced fighter.
On the undercard, Badou Jack was supposed to rematch Jean Pascal for the light heavyweight world title, but after Pascal failed a drug test he had to face relative unknown Dervin Colina, whom he stopped in the fourth round.
And in the most competitive fight of the night, Luis Arias pulled off a huge upset victory over former unified light middleweight world champion Jarrett Hurd by split decision.
Also, former NFL star Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson took on bareknuckle fighter Brian Maxwell in a four-round exhibition bout, which also didn't have a winner but did see the football star put down in the fourth round.
