Jake Paul banned from Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight after recent brawl
Jake Paul has been bruised and banned by Floyd Mayweather from the Hard Rock Stadium on June 6 after his "Gotcha Hat" stunt ignited a brawl between him and the boxing great.
Mayweather, the former five-weight world champion, will fight Jake's brother Logan Paul over six rounds in a Miami exhibition fight and on Thursday, the pair met for an official launch press conference.
Jake Paul approached Mayweather and asked if he would fight him on the same night and after Mayweather responded "absolutely," Jake removed Mayweather's baseball cap and ran off.
Mayweather wrestled Paul to the ground and after being separated by security, the 44-year-old continued chasing him saying, "don't disrespect me, I'll kill that motherf**ker."
Paul left with a black eye from the scrap but took his taunt a step further by changing his Twitter handle and tattooing his leg with the words "Gotcha Hat."
He wrote on Twitter: "Word on the street already is that Floyd is sending goons after me to try and kill me or hurt me if I die… I died for the hat."
Mayweather, 44, has requested that Jake Paul be barred from the June 6 fight, which was confirmed in an Instagram story where Logan told his 24-year-old brother.
Logan said: "They’re not letting you into the fight. You’re literally banned from the Hard Rock Stadium on June 6."
Jake responded, "Swipe up, I’ll buy the fight. I don’t care."
There was speculation that this was a pre-planned act to hype up the controversial fight between a 50-fight unbeaten pro and a two-fight Youtube novice. However, Logan Paul said it was the opposite.
"I f****** wished it wasn’t real. I wish it was staged," he told TMZ.
"That sh*t is not funny. It’s not fun for anyone. That sh*t just got personal by default. It was supposed be like a cute little press conference… come together, get people excited for the fight. Not people talking about killing people! What the f*ck?"
