Jake Paul announces Tommy Fury fight by trolling rival ahead of clash
Jake Paul has vowed to destroy the Fury family legacy after announcing the rivals have agreed terms to fight on December 18.
The fight will take place in Tampa, Florida and will be held over eight rounds at a catchweight of 192lb.
Paul and Fury will come face to face in Las Vegas next weekend before doing so again 48 hours later in Florida.
And in announcing the fight, Paul said: "It's finally official. Timothy had no choice but to sign the contract so he could finally pay his bar tabs, afford a shirt for the club, and stop living off Molly!
"December 18 in Tampa Bay, I'm changing this w*****'s name to Tommy Fumbles and celebrating with Tom Brady. Pucker up Timmy… it's time to kiss your last name and your family's boxing legacy goodbye."
Paul is referring to a clause he inserted into the fight clause which would see Fury change his name to 'Tommy Fumbles' if he loses. Were he to win, Fury would earn an extra $500,000 from Paul.
The 22-year-old is the brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson who has also vowed to change his sibling's name should he lose.
Fury holds a record of 7-0 but has fought limited opposition since turning professional in 2018.
Paul entered the paid ranks in 2020 and has since beaten YouTube rival AnEsonGib, former NBA star Nate Robinson, former Olympic wrestler and mixed martial artist Ben Askren and, most recently, former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
And Paul doesn't expect Fury to be his toughest test to date.
"Tommy is a different style than Tyron but he doesn't have as much experience." he said when asked if Fury will prove an easier fight than Woodley.

"Tommy is a great boxer, he's undefeated he has fast hands, he's quick, he comes from a legendary bloodline. I just think that boy will crack under pressure. I've taken out everyone from the UK; Deji [Olatunji], Joe Weller, Gib, KSI is scared; he' really next on the list.
"All of them. have cracked and all of them have lost on the big stage against me and he's going to crack (too). Tommy is an easier fight than Tyron, for sure, and I think I knock him out, for sure.
"I said that about Tyron but I think that's the only time I've been wrong, but he came to fight that night and he's been hit by some big guys; Tommy's never been past four rounds."
Amanda Serrano, one of the best female fighters in history, will feature in the co-main event before a potential fight with Katie Taylor next spring.
