Jake Paul announces next fight after Conor McGregor’s "confused kid" jibe
Jake Paul will return to the ring on April 17 after giving up on his efforts to lure Conor McGregor into a fight.
YouTube star Paul has been goading McGregor in recent weeks with a $50million offer but his trolling has provoked little reaction.
And the younger brother of Logan – who is due to face Floyd Mayweather next month – will look elsewhere for an opponent.
Announcing his third professional fight, Paul said: "Hate me or love me, you can’t stop me. April 17, I headline a global PPV event and I am getting my third knock-out in a row.
"I look to prove to the world that I am and I will remain one of the biggest names in this sport. Thank you to Triller, Bobby, Ryan and Snoop for giving me the opportunity to showcase my talent to the world.
"Given their leadership, I know the visuals, performances, and production value on this show will be unlike anything anyone has seen. Together, we will continue to break records."
Paul will headline a show promoted by Triller who put together Mike Tyson's return to the ring last year against Roy Jones Jr.
Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard to follow up his debut win over AnEsonGib last year.
McGregor, meanwhile, is preparing to take on Dustin Poirier in their rematch at UFC 257 on Sunday.
The Irishman KO'd his rival in 2014 and has promised to finish the second instalment inside 60 seconds.
And asked about Paul, he told BT Sport : "You know, that is what it is. We'll see what happens, he seems like a confused little kid to me, to be honest.
"He's willing to get in there, I don't know what'll happen, it's not on the radar at the minute with the young lad.
"I have a teammate [Dylan Moran] – him and Dylan have been back-and-forth, so you never know."
