‘Holy sh*t!!!’: Undefeated knockout artist produces KO of the year contender
Brandun Lee sent a tremor through the 140-pound division with a withering knockout of Samuel Teah on Thursday (AEDT).
Lee, 21, has been mowing through every opponent placed in front of him in his 22-fight career and took his current knockout streak to 13 by cold-cocking Teah in the third round of their bout in the US.
In his biggest test to date against the 33-year-old American with 17 wins from 22 fights, Lee traded punches for two rounds before finishing it with an exclamation mark that left the boxing world in awe.
The most ferocious young talent coming through at 140.

Holy shit!!!! Brandun Lee just absolutely obliterated Sam Teah with a gargantuan right hand on the chin in rd 3 on @ShowtimeBoxing. Out COLD. That kid can crack!!!! #boxing#ShoBox#LeeTeah
Great shot by @Brandun_Lee. That’s how you prove that you’re a level above. Love this kid. One of the nicer fighters in the game and a badass. He’s ready for a bigger step up … and not too far away from just plain ready. #boxing#ShoBox.
Lee, a prodigy who won his first national championships at age nine and finished his amateur career with a 181-9 record, signalled he’s ready for a bigger stage.
“Honestly, I don’t think I learned a whole lot tonight,” Lee said. “I knew he couldn’t outbox me. I knew he couldn’t outpunch me. I knew the knockout was going to come and that one was definitely one of my top one or two favourites so far in my career.”
“This is probably my biggest accomplishment yet,” he added. “It was a step up in competition and even the betting odds were way closer than usual. Most of the time, I’m a -5000 favourite or something like that and this time it was only -1000.
“I was getting a lot of DMs on Instagram and Twitter of people telling me that Sam is going to be tough. Sam is going to beat you. But hopefully, the doctors check him out and everything is all good.”
The UK’s Josh Taylor (17-0) is the current king of the junior welterweight division and will put his belts on the line against undefeated number one contender Jose Ramirez in May.
But Lee will certainly be on his radar now.
