Fury gives final ultimatum to Usyk to save fight as negotiations stall
Tyson Fury has threatened to take one per cent away from the 30 per cent purse split he has offered Oleksandr Usyk for every day that negotiations continue. Growing frustrated by the drawn-out discussions, Fury took to his social media channels to voice one final ultimatum.
“I see all this talk of boxing fights, they want 50 per cent, Usyk and all this, Tyson is being greedy but from where I’m standing, Usyk you and your team are worth 30 per cent, take it or leave it,” said Fury.
“And if you don’t want it go and fight Daniel Dubois at the Copperbox and get a few million dollars. If you want to make some real money, come and fight the Gypsy King. But for everyday that you linger and mess around I will deduct one per cent from the 30 per cent.
“So, every day I’m going to deduct one per cent until you take it and if you don’t take it fight Daniel Dubois for two million dollars. Not a problem, but how in the world could you offer me a deal. Not a problem.”
This comes after Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk came out and declared that negotiations were stalling on the financial side of the deal. With the historic event having to head to England rather than Saudi Arabia, the prize pot has been significantly reduced, proving to be a problem for Fury.
Fury wants the best possible wage and so is demanding a 70 per cent lion’s share of the total prize money. However, Krassyuk and Usyk wants at least 40 per cent.

Speaking to talkSport earlier this week, he said: “We initially agreed for 50/50. But then Tyson was asking for some bigger money. So we made it clear that we are ready to go 60/40, but the winner takes 60. That was our latest offer.”
When asked if Fury had turned that down, Krassyuk replied: “Yes, exactly.” Before adding: “I am experienced and I’ve been here for a while. Normally when a fighter does not want to take a fight, he asks for something impossible so it doesn’t take place. On the other side, I’m really optimistic.
“Maybe Tyson is not ready yet. Maybe he’s is not ready mentally, maybe he’s not ready physically, whatever, I don’t know and we don’t really care. We want to make it happen. If he doesn’t want it, we can’t make him want it. So, what can I say? The fight should happen someday.”
