Fury confirms return to boxing in bombshell U-turn as he teases AJ-Usyk winner
Offbeat news from the world of sport
Tyson Fury has confirmed he will "100 per-cent" return to the ring.
The heavyweight champion, 33, had previously declared he would hang up his gloves following his Wembley victory over Dillian Whyte. Fury defeated his mandatory challenger via a sixth-round technical knockout to maintain his undefeated status and stated after the fight he had no intention of defending his belt.
But now the Morecambe-based boxer has performed a U-turn on his retirement plans and has hinted he is looking to face the winner of Anthony Joshua's rematch fight against Oleksandr Usyk. "We have some very exciting news coming. I think the world has been waiting for a plan of action," Fury told Queensberry Promotions.
"Last week we [Fury and promoter Frank Warren] had a nice Italian down in London and a long conversation about lots of stuff. I will be back in the ring 100 per cent, just like in the movie when Jerry Maguire shouted ‘Show Me The Money!'
"If anyone can show me the money then it’s Frank Warren, I call him the Magic Man and we are going to make some big, big things happen."
Fury stated his next fight would not happen before Joshua and Usyk's Saudi Arabia contest as that would be "pointless," but he would be "training like a lunatic" to perhaps face the winner.

He added: "When this middleweight knocks out this bodybuilder, there’s only gonna be one man to sort this absolute circus out, isn’t there?
"What I would say to the people who want this fight to happen is: you better have a big chequebook because to bring the big Gypsy King out of retirement to redeem this country – yet again – it’s going to cost.
"I am a prize-fighter and I do fight for prizes, but it’s gonna cost if you want me to do a mission on this middleweight and show you what a real heavyweight does to him.
"And that will be expensive, they will need deep pockets and then we can talk but not before the Usyk vs Joshua fight happens first because it is pointless before. Until [Joshua and Usyk fight again], I’m gonna stay in Morecambe, training like a lunatic."
