Fury brands AJ and Eddie Hearn ‘cowards’ and ‘reptiles’ after money row
Tyson Fury has branded Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn 'cowards' and 'reptiles' for their step-aside demands.
Fury's camp offered Joshua £15million to waive his right to a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk and allow the Gypsy King to set up an undisputed heavyweight title fight.
But discussions broke down at the final moment, leaving Fury to fight Dillian Whyte for his WBC crown instead.
Fury says that discussions fell through because Joshua and Hearn demanded an additional £5million at the final moment.
“Let’s just say that didn’t happen because one party came back on the final day and said ‘I want X amount of millions more or I’m not doing it’ and Big T said ‘stick the X amount of millions up your rear end’,” said Fury.
“So yeah, it was very complicated and stressful for me to deal with these idiots.
“I don’t like all this backwards and forwards and all this snakey behaviour. They’re like rattlesnakes in the grass, they say one thing and mean another, I don’t like that.
“What you see on the tin is what you get with me.
“If I bark and growl, I’m probably going to bite you, but if I’m wagging my tail then you know I’m not.
“These are like reptiles, you never know what’s going to happen with them.”
Fury was speaking at the launch of Furocity – his new energy drink venture, in which he hopes to take down Red Bull and Monster.
Is Tyson Fury the best heavyweight in the world? Let us know in the comments section.
He said: "Tyson Fury is entering the energy drink market. We don't do things in small measures and we aim for the first position.
"So this is a stark warning to Red Bull and to Monster.
"Red Bull gives you wings… but chickens have wings.
"And we have the meanest energy drink out there in Monster – but they haven't met me. I'm the baddest man on the planet because I'm the heavyweight champion of the world not once, but twice.
"We're taking out all the bums – and on this occasion it is Red Bull and Monster.
"It is a £10billion market and I'm aiming to take a good piece of that. We're going to get rid of all the other guys and take over."
