Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are reportedly getting closer to finalising their much anticipated undisputed world heavyweight title showdown.
Boxing fans have long awaited a heavyweight undisputed fight whether it be Fury against Usyk or Anthony Joshua in recent years, only for the dream scenario to never play out.
Alex Krassyuk, Usyk’s promoter, however believes that the heavyweight super-fight will soon be agreed.

When asked if the contracts for the bout had been issued, he told Sky Sports: ‘Probably yes, but we have not received them yet.’
Then when asked if he is hopeful the fight will take place, he added: ‘Yes – we are on our way.’
It comes after the Gypsy King’s American promoter, Bob Arum, said that his fighter and Usyk had agreed to fight.
As previously reported, Arum told Sky Sports: ‘The two fighters have agreed to fight each other next.
Usyk’s promoter says they are ‘on our way’ to agreeing the bout which could happen in early 2023
‘With Fury and Usyk we’re dealing with two adults, not a lot of [rubbish] back and forth.
‘Usyk is a good friend of mine, he’s very intelligent and Tyson is Superman, both as an athlete and as an intellect.
‘So they want the fight. Both of them want the fight and so there’ll be very little, if any, [messing] around. So we’ll be able to make that happen.
‘I’m very, very confident. As I said the fighters have both agreed to fight each other next without any interim fights.’
The Gypsy King has seen negotiations over a unification bout fail to work out in recent years
Fury is the reigning WBC champion and has fought twice in the UK this year, beating Dillian Whyte then Derek Chisora.
Usyk first defeated Anthony Joshua in 2021 to claim the unified WBO, WBA and IBF titles.
He returned to Ukraine earlier this year when Russia invaded his country but in August returned to boxing and beat Joshua in their rematch in Saudi Arabia.
The Ukrainian has since pursued the fight with Fury, attending the Gypsy King’s victory over Chisora to confront the Briton after his victory.
Usyk’s manager had claimed that the fight could take place on March 4, and Fury remains adamant that he will ‘take out’ the Ukrainian heavyweight if they face off next year.
