Fury aiming to fight Joshua in December because Wilder is "no threat"
Tyson Fury is already looking towards a December clash with Anthony Joshua because upcoming opponent Deontay Wilder is "no threat at all", says his dad John.
Fury was initially scheduled to meet Wilder for a third time on July 24, only for their trilogy bout to be cancelled and rearranged for October 9 when he tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks out from the fight.
The Gypsy King will hope to successfully defend his WBC title and then turn his attention to a long-awaited battle with Joshua, who is putting his unified straps on the line against Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk later this month.
And despite both men still needing to overcome significant obstacles over the coming months, Fury Sr says his son's sights are set firmly on facing AJ this December.
"He's trying to get Joshua in December," John Fury told GiveMeSport.
"We're going for that fight this year, because we see Wilder as no threat at all once he's done the camp right.

"If he's done everything right to the letter, Wilder ain't a problem.
"He's got his number, beat him twice, beat him like a ragdoll, beat him to a pulp last time.
"Wilder has got nothing to offer him at all, only that big punch.
"And believe me, what I'm seeing in the new trainer, we know a lot about him as well, so we've got no fear at all."

Fury produced a dominant display to rip the WBC title from Wilder's grasp back in February 2020, forcing his rival's trainer Mark Breland to throw the towel in after seven one-sided rounds.
He was controversially denied victory when they first met in December 2018, climbing off the canvas in dramatic fashion late on to secure a split-decision draw – despite most fans insisting he won the fight.

While Fury is expected to get past Wilder in comfortable fashion again next month, Joshua will have his work cut out against pound-for-pound master Usyk.
The latter was an undisputed champion down at cruiserweight before making the move up to plus-200lbs, where he has laboured to victories over Chazz Witherspoon and Dereck Chisora.
