Frank Warren owes Fury £10,000 after Derek Chisora fight is officially confirmed

Tyson Fury's fight with Derek Chisora in December has cost boxing promoter Frank Warren a whopping £10,000.

Fury confirmed his trilogy fight with Chisora will take place on December 3 on social media when he tweeted a poster of their upcoming brawl. The Gypsy King will feel confident going into the clash as he's defeated Chisora in their previous two meetings.

But although Fury and Chisora are set to take part in an end of year spectacle, it's not the fight the WBC heavyweight champion initially wanted. He hung up his gloves after crushing Deontay Wilder last year, and came out of retirement when Anthony Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk – prompting him to call out both boxers.

However, neither match materialised and even though Fury pushed for an all-British bout with Joshua, AJ didn't accept the terms in time. And Joshua's reluctance to sign the fight contract has cost Warren the hefty sum as he was adamant the fight would go ahead.

Fury didn't share the same optimism as Warren, and was so sure AJ would back out he was willing to put his money where his mouth was, leaving the promoter 10 grand out of pocket. Speaking to talkSPORT, Warren said: "I honestly believed it was gonna happen, I got to the stage where I thought were going to get this over the line, then Tyson kept saying to me, 'they're not gonna do this,' because all I'm doing is going to him everyday and telling him how the negotiations are going.

"We were talking, (to Joshua's camp) but Tyson was getting fed up with it all, and he was right at the end of the day, and it cost me 10 thousand pounds the bet I had on it. So he was 100% right, 'he will not go for this Joshua.'"

And Warren reckons Fury and Joshua will never get in the ring following the latest failed bid. Plus, he also feels Joshua's prone to lose to whoever he fights next as his weaknesses have been exposed.
