Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul undercard including ex-champ and NFL legend
Showtime have confirmed the four-fight card that will be headlined by Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul in Miami next month.
The American YouTube sensation, who has only been involved in one 'professional' fight, will go toe-to-toe with the man many consider as the greatest boxer to ever step between the ropes.
Logan’s solitary bout was all the way back in November 2019, when he lost to fellow YouTuber KSI via a split decision.
It is believed that bout drew more than a million pay-per-views as he and brother Jake continue to shake up the sport.
Mayweather 44, is a former five-weight world champion and will of course go into the bout at the Hard Rock Stadium as the overwhelming favourite.
The two had their first face-to-face meeting on Thursday, with Paul towering over Mayweather before several scuffles broke out.
Ahead of that, Showtime announced the three fights that will make up the card on June 6.
In the fight most likely to appeal to purists, former world champion Badou Jack is taking on Jean Pascal, in a rematch of a world title bout that saw Pascal win a controversial split decision in 2019.
Elsewhere, former unified light middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd is set to take on fellow American Luis Arias.
And then to add to the celebrity element of the night, NFL legend Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson is set to make his debut in what is described as an exhibition bout.
Johnson, who changed his name to Ochocinco between 2008 and 2012, played 10 seasons in the NFL, racking up six Pro-bowls during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals.
"So Leonard Ellerbe, Floyd's manager, hit me up like 'hey I got an opportunity for you’," Johnson said.
“Floyd is fighting June 6th, at the Hard Rock, you can make a cool million and do a few rounds.' It's something I really couldn't pass up. I could pass it up but why not?
“Everything in life I'm good at, besides golf. I called Ellerbe back and said let's do this."
The 43-year-old’s opponent is currently unknown, although that isn’t an issue for the former wide receiver.
"It don't matter who I'm facing," Johnson said. "When I played on Sundays, even though it's a different sport, you knew you were going to get your money's worth.
“June 6th, Sweet feet Johnson is going to go in there and do what I do best."
