Floyd Mayweather trolled by fan who jokes to boxing icon ‘I’ll knock you out’

Floyd Mayweather glared at a fan like an opponent after they told the boxing icon they would knock him out.

The clip was uploaded to TikTok by user ‘RuthlessRich’ and shared on Twitter by talkSPORT boxing editor Michael Benson. The undefeated boxing legend was enjoying some down time at a College Football Playoff game, when he heard his name called.

“Floyd! Floyd!” yelled a fan who was walking below the stand Mayweather was in. The 45-year-old turned to look at him, before the fan responded: “I’d knock you out!” The smile on the American’s turned to a frown as he menacingly stared down the fan who continued to film him as he walked away.

Fans had their say on the incident in the comments, with one unimpressed user @19KD83 replying: “Says as he's running past and into the distance.” Another user @ypmusiclive posted: “Sucka move. Floyd wit his kid and on top of that dude talking real tough walking away real fast.”

Other fans saw the funny side as @CarrLows added alongside laughing and boxing emojis: “Floyd’s next exhibition,” while @GazJulio1988 wrote: “The facial expression is just priceless.”

Speaking of exhibition boxing matches, Mayweather revealed he is planning to head to the UK for his next bout. Mayweather played out a number of exhibitions throughout 2022, with his most recent coming against Deji – brother of famed YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI.

The former world champion is keen to carry on the trend this year, and has eyed the UK as his next fight destination. Mayweather never participated in a professional bout in the British Isles during his professional career. The exciting news for British boxing fans is that they will not have to wait too long for the boxing legend to take to the ring, with the American set to fight as early as next month.

Speaking toThe Telegraph, Mayweather said: “A bout is planned in the UK for 2023. In February we’re looking forward to coming here and putting on an exhibition for the fans in the UK. I’ve never had a chance to come over here and fight when I was actively boxing as a professional. Hopefully in February I’ll come over and do an exhibition if it’s possible."

His paydays for many of his professional fights were staggering, but the American star revealed it would cost UK organisers a 'few million a minute’ for him to fight on British soil.

He told the Daily Mail last September: "We don't know [where the rest of my bouts will take place] but of course, if the price is right then I am on my way [to the UK].

“It's always a few million a minute. From this exhibition [against Mikuru Asakura] alone I will be making somewhere upwards of $15-20million. That's just from this exhibition. So, it's cool. Nine minutes, $20million, not bad."
