Floyd Mayweather ‘to attend’ Eubank Jr fight card – but won’t watch main event
Floyd Mayweather will be in attendance for the undercard fights as Chris Eubank Jr faces off against Liam Williams this weekend but 'money' won't be staying for the main event.
Having twice been put on hold, the fiercely contested grudge match between Eubank Jr and Williams is finally set to take place on Saturday, February 5.
The initial fight was originally scheduled to take place in mid-December until Williams sustained a shoulder injury and had to pull out.
The re-arranged bout for January 29 was put on hold again following news that the British Boxing Board of Control suspended all UK boxing that month.
But it seems it will be third time lucky for the long-awaited boxing crunch clash.
And gracing the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Saturday night will be boxing royalty as Floyd Mayweather is set to show his face for the undercard fights.
Though the former light middleweight champion will not be there to witness the showdown between Eubank Jr and Williams.
Mayweather is jetting over from the States to check out Claressa Shields, who will defend her WBA, WBC, IBF, and The Ring female middleweight titles against Ema Kozin.

Shields has partnered up with Mayweather's head coach, Gerald Tucker and spent time training with 'money' ahead of her UK professional debut.
"Floyd told me I was going in the right direction," Shields told Sky Sports.
"Not a lot of US fans get to have the experience of going to see what fans in the UK are like. He told me a lot about his experience fighting Ricky Hatton.
