Fans spot contradiction in Floyd Mayweather analysis of Conor McGregor defeat
UFC fans have laid into boxing legend Floyd Mayweather’s analysis on the beaten Conor McGregor ahead of his fight against YouTube star Logan Paul.
Mayweather gave a scathing verdict of McGregor after his second round loss to Dustin Poirer on Saturday night.
The pair have a less than favourable history having done battle in the boxing ring as McGregor changed codes for a huge multi-million fight in 2017.
Despite getting the better of the Notorious, Mayweather clearly still has it in for the Irishman, and launched an attack on McGregor and his talk of a fight with Manny Pacquiao back in the boxing ring.
"The world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated,” he told his millions of followers on social media.
“That just lets you all know that racism still exists. Just know, that bum will never be me or be on my level.
“I’m just built different, my mindset is on another planet, my skills are second to none, I’m a natural born winner and yes I talk a lot of trash, but every time I back it up! This is what they hate.
"It’s sad that you can be a poor black kid from the ghetto that has dealt with racism your whole life and work extremely hard to put yourself and your family in a better position, and most of the hate come from my own people.
“Conor can not even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao. Nobody wants to see that, it's like my leftovers eating leftovers."
However, many felt that Mayweather’s comments were contradictory given his recent announcement that he will be taking on YouTuber Logan Paul.
Taking to Reddit, one wrote: “I mean hes right but…Mayweather is fighting a youtuber, who is yet to even beat a youtuber?”
A second added: “I’d rather watch McGregor-Pacquaio than watch Mayweather-Paul.”
“Also Mayweather: ‘I’m fighting a youtuber who has lost his two previous fights against another youtuber, thats right im fighting a guy that's 0-2.’,” shared a third.
As a savage fourth put: “Mayweather is such a t***.”
