Fan storms ring during Deji vs Alex Wassabi YouTube boxing fight

The YouTube boxing fight between Deji and Alex Wassabi descended into chaos when a fan jumped into the ring.

The fight was into the second of five rounds when the fan climbed through the ropes, forcing the fight to be stopped.

He was immediately jumped on and bundled out of the ring by security.

The bout was paused before the ring announcer pleaded for calm as he told fans the bout would be called off if calm did not ensue.

The fight did continue as Deji looked to win a fight at the third attempt against Wassabi who was making his debut.

The bout ultimately went the five-round distance with Wassabi winning by split decision.

"I did great, I didn't know who was going to win at the end," said Wassabi. "I didn't realise how tough it was going to be.

"These people love their people and they showed; I didn't hear my name once.

"Deji, I just wanted to compete and if it wasn't for you that dream wouldn't have come true.

"I want to get back in… I don't know when the next YouTube event is."

The beaten Deji said: "I guess I think too much when I box and I don't punch enough. Alex did well, I can't dispute that."

Having vowed to quit if he lost, Deji asked the crowd if they wanted him to fight again, which they answered in the affirmative.

He and Wassabi then agreed to a rematch.

"If you guys want me to fight again, I'll show you what I can do," he added.

The intruder was just the latest in a long list of dramatic moments at the Showstar Boxing event at Wembley Arena.

The fight between Ryan Taylor and DK Money was stopped in the first round when Taylor inexplicably headbutted his opponent.

Taylor had complained of a low blow but there was no evidence and he was promptly disqualified.

Chaos ensued in the ring in the immediate aftermath as fans crowded the ring, forcing the ring announcer to demand they take their seats.

There was more headbutt drama in the fight between Vitaly and Kristen Hanby.

Hanby had dominated the opening two rounds but then resorted to headbutting his opponent.

The referee stopped the fight to admonish Hanby but did not punish the fighter with the bout ultimately scored a draw.
