Eye-watering ticket prices for Tyson Fury v Deontay Wilder 3
Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder's trilogy fight in Las Vegas will take place at the T-Mobile Arena, with a full capacity allowed for the event, but there will be a huge charge for fans looking to attend.
Tickets went on sale for the world heavyweight title clash yesterday, with the cheapest seats at the top of the upper bowl in the arena costing a massive $505 face value.
Ticket reselling websites are already charging as much as double that price for seats in the upper bowl, and promoter Bob Arum has said that tickets are already selling better than either of the pair's first two fights.
Fury and Wilder fought to a controversial draw in December 2018 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, where many fans believed the Brit had done enough to earn a win.
But there was no question when they faced off in February of last year, with Fury completely dominating the American, dropping him twice in the early rounds before his corner threw in the towel in the seventh round.
And despite Fury having inked a deal to fight Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia this summer, arbitration brought by Wilder meant that he had to commit to one more fight with his rival.
"Let's be honest about it," Arum said at a press conference officially confirming the bout in Los Angeles last night. "The first fight was a tremendous fight.
"Tyson showed what a great boxer he is, he got knocked down twice and they called it a draw.
"The second fight was, as well all witnessed, a very one-sided fight, but even a one-sided fight at heavyweight is still great because fans love to see the big guys duking it out.
"The third fight, based on the first two, I really predict will be bigger than the first two fights based on the orders that we're getting for tickets, they far exceed what we did for the last fight.
"I believe that the pay-per-view is going to be bigger than it was last time, and we're happy that every restaurant is opening up around the country because the closed circuit action in the United States that will be shown there will be tremendous.
"There's pent up demand that the fans have, so I'm looking forward to a great fight and a great event and I think it's going to set all kinds of records for a heavyweight championship fight."
The T-Mobile Arena, where the fight takes place, has 3,000 more seats than the site of their first fight; the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and is expected to allow full capacity, with Conor McGregor fighting there just two weeks prior.
However, it remains to be seen how the travel ban on British fans coming to the United States affects the event, with Fury bringing a huge UK crowd to both of their first two bouts.
There are rumors that travel could be allowed from July 19, but with the fight just five days later, it would be surprising to see British fans able to plan a Vegas trip in such a quick time.
