Eddie Hearn names ‘boxing Mount Rushmore’ – and leaves out Tyson Fury and Usyk
Eddie Hearn has named his 'Mount Rushmore' of boxing – but the list is more significant for the names missing as opposed to those included.
In fact, the divisive Matchroom boss has even included himself among what he considers the most elite quartet of his sport, as opposed to current heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Maybe small wonder given Hearn, 43, went on an extraordinary rant against 'The Gypsy King' this month over his apparent stalling of his unification bout with Usyk, saying: "F*** off. You want money, you want too much money, you're not the draw you think you are, that's fight not as big as you think it is."
The 43-year-old himself has been busy promoting the return of Anthony Joshua, who takes on Jermaine Franklin on April 1 in a fight he can il-afford to lose. And speaking on the The DAZN Boxing Show, his loyalty to 'AJ', who has been part of the Matchroom set up since his amateur days, was all too apparent.

Indeed, it's Joshua who was the first name on Hearn's list. That's despite the British star suffering three defeats in his last five fights, the last of which came against Usyk in Saudi Arabia last August.
Second on the list is Canelo 'Saul' Alvarez. The inclusion of the Mexican is perhaps less questionable, given he's a multiple world champion over four different weight classes and has lost just twice in his 62 bouts – with one of them coming against the legendary Floyd Mayweather.
Third on Hearn's monument is another Matchroom star in Katie Taylor. The unbeaten Irishwoman is the current undisputed lightweight world champion, and is currently gearing up to her next defence against Chantelle Cameron on May 20. However, hopes are still high she can rematch Amanda Serrano at Croke Park, a notion backed by both Hearn and Conor McGregor.

Perhaps somewhat tongue in cheek, Hearn has considered himself worthy of the final coveted spot on his life, for his contribution to the sport. That particular gesture will only serve to irk the likes of Fury and co, but the London-based boss has never been shy to ruffle feathers.
However, after attending the Echo Arena on Saturday night for a Matchroom event headlined by the super-lightweight bout between Robbie Davies Jr and Darragh Foley, recent developments appeared to be taking their toll on Hearn. His seemingly greyer beard left fans concluding he looked "25 years older."
Indeed, it's been a difficult period for Hearn amid the drug saga surrounding another of his fighters, Conor Benn. The second generation star appeared on the Piers Morgan: Uncensored show this month in a bid to publicly defend himself after being cleared by he WBC, but the appearance inadvertently raised more questions for his critics.
