Ebanie Bridges shares footage from when vile injury left her disfigured

Ebanie Bridges has shared the "heartbreaking" footage from when she suffered a vile injury against Shannon Courtenay that left her disfigured.

The two fighters met back in April on the undercard of Conor Benn's WBA continental title defence against Samuel Vargas at the Copper Box.

Bridges lost via unanimous decision to suffer the only defeat of her professional career to date, but also suffered a nasty injury after Courtenay accidentally headbutted her.

The Australian bantamweight missed out on the vacant WBA title that night as well to further add to the misery of the heavy bruising she suffered to both eyes.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, Bridges shows off the heavy swelling she suffered as well as the bruising to her eye after the fight.

The incident which led to the injury also appears, as does a picture of her bloodshot eye days later, which had left her looking like the Terminator.

Bridges captioned the post: “That time I got head butted by Shanny in our fight. I've had my fair share of injuries during fights and camps, but I ALWAYS push through.

Will Ebanie Bridges win a world title in 2022? Let us know in the comments section below.

“I think injuries are one of the most heartbreaking things an athlete experiences. Let’s hope 2022 is a little more injury free for The Blonde Bomber.”

Bridges recovered from the injury and has already gone on to fight twice since losing to Courtenay, winning both.

She defeated Bec Connolly via TKO in August, before winning on points against Mailys Gangloff a month later.

Despite beating Gangloff, Bridges suffered yet another nasty injury, with her right hand appearing heavily swollen in a social media post.
